While on one hand, mobile companies are launching new schemes and offers for their customers on the occasion of Diwali, on the other hand, Reliance Jio has dealt a heavy blow to its users by announcing that it will now charge money for outgoing calls.

On Wednesday, Reliance Jio said that from October 10, users will have to pay 6 paise per minute for outgoing calls to another company’s network.

However, Jio announced that on the deduction of 6 paise, the same amount will be given free of cost to its data users.

Apart from this, Jio to Jio and Jio to landline calls, including incoming calls, will remain free, like earlier. Jio said that till the time TRAI does not make Termination Charge zero, it will keep charging users for outgoing calls.

Jio has also launched separate Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) vouchers to make outgoing calls on the network of other companies.

These IUC vouchers cost between Rs 10 and Rs 100. With these vouchers, in addition to minutes to make outgoing calls on another company’s network, users will also get extra mobile data, which will be added to the current plan. Also, all these vouchers will not come with any kind of validity.
