J&K: Shrine Of Sufi Saint Bringing People Of All Faiths Together
An awe-inspiring precedent of faith and brotherhood can be witnessed at the shrine of famous Sufi saint Fateh Mohammad Ganji in Jammu’s Rajouri.
The devout have to climb several steps to reach this shrine located on a beautiful hill in Rajouri. Despite this, people of all ages, belonging to all religions, reach here to pay obeisance to Baba Fateh Mohammad Ganji.
Food is prepared on the lines of ‘langar’ (by community service) and prayers are also offered together here. People from remote regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh arrive here to pray for their wishes to be fulfilled. Crowds of acolytes can be seen here in more or less every season. Followers assembled here to say that at a time when an atmosphere of hatred is being created in the country, the brotherhood and unity emanating from the shrine of Sufi saint Baba Fateh Mohammad Ganji acquires great importance.
