JNUSU Delegation Meets With HRD Panel, Protest To
A delegation of four office-bearers of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) met with HRD Ministry panel over the hostel fee hike and submitted a memorandum of their demands on Wednesday.

General Secretary of the students’ union, Satish Chandra Yadav said, “The meeting was between all the four office-bearers of the JNUSU & counsellors. We briefed them about the crisis in JNU. We were told that our demands will be further recommended. Protest will continue inside campus until demands are met.”

Meanwhile, a bus full of JNU students, many of them visually challenged, who were heading towards Delhi Police Headquarters to protest against the lathi-charge on their colleagues, accuse the police of hijacking their bus and diverting it to Vasant Kunj.

The JNU Students’ Union has demanded that the HRD Ministry should intervene immediately and instruct the Vice-Chancellor to withdraw the draft hostel manual which was illegally passed on October 28. And, they said, if the Vice-Chancellor doesn't comply, then the HRD ministry should dismiss him.

The Ministry has appointed a high power committee for discussion with students and administration for peaceful resolution of all issues in the University.
