Justice S.A. Bobde Takes Oath As 47th Chief Justice Of India

Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde was sworn in as the country’s 47th Chief Justice on Monday. In the morning, President Ram Nath Kovind administered an oath of office and confidentiality to him at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Justice Bobde will serve as Chief Justice of India till April 23, 2021. Bobde, aged 63, will replace Justice Ranjan Gogoi. He was part of the five-judge Supreme Court bench which delivered the verdict in the Ram Mandir land dispute case.
Justice Bobde was born on April 24, 1956 in Nagpur. He graduated in arts and law from Nagpur University. After practising law for 21 years, Justice Bobde was sworn in as Additional Judge in the Bombay High Court in the year 2000. He became Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court on October 16, 2012. After this, in the year 2013, he became a Supreme Court judge. Watch the full report here:
