Kerala Elephant Case: FIR Filed Against BJP MP Man

In the case of the death of a pregnant elephant in Kerala's Palakkad, an FIR has been registered against former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi in Mallapuram district of Kerala. Maneka Gandhi has been accused of giving communal color to this matter as well as for disturbing peace and harmony.

Mallapuram SP Abdul Karim said, he has received more than seven complaints, accusing Maneka Gandhi of trying to disturb the peace and provoke hatred. An FIR has been filed against Maneka Gandhi under Section 153 of the IPC.

Complainant Riaz Mukkoli said Mallapuram is a model district for the entire country where Muslims, Hindus, and Christians from all communities live together in harmony. But Maneka Gandhi has insulted the people of the district by saying that they remain involved in criminal activities.

Subhash Chandran KR of Mallapuram, another complainant advocating in the Supreme Court, said that Maneka Gandhi had done a prejudicial act to promote enmity against the people and Muslims of Mallapuram and to spoil the communal harmony and peace in the district.

Last month, a pregnant elephant was killed in Mannarkkad of Pallakad district after eating a fruit full of explosives. A man named P. Wilson has been arrested in this case. But Maneka Gandhi made a false statement by saying that the incident took place in Mallapuram, a Muslim-majority district.
