Kerala Issues Alert As China's Coronavirus Spreads
The coronavirus, which is spreading fast in China, is making inroads into Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan too. So far, 25 people have died in China from contracting this deadly virus. China’s National Health Commission has said that 835 people have been infected by the virus.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,072 suspected cases of this disease have come to light in 20 provincial regions of China. Keeping in view the outbreak of this disease, five cities, including Wuhan, have been put on lockdown. Airports and railway stations are also shut.

While five people were found infected by this virus in Hong Kong, the coronavirus is spreading quickly in countries other than China.

V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, informed through a tweet that 100 Indian nurses working in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hayat Hospital were tested, out of which one nurse was found infected.

The government of India is also on alert on account of this disease. While the Indian Embassy in Beijing has issued helpline numbers, an alert has been issued in the state of Kerala.

According to the World Health Organisation, this virus originated in a seafood market in China’s Wuhan city and it is spreading through camels, bats, snakes, cats and several other animals.
