Lockdown Tales: Two Delhiites Feeding Hundreds Of Slum Dwellers
The biggest challenge during the ongoing nationwide lockdown is to sate the hunger of crores of poor people.
The Central and state governments have made arrangements to provide rice, wheat and pulses free-of-cost to the poor.
People from various religions and communities are also helping out the poor with great gusto. Jaspreet Singh and Manmeet Singh have been offering food to hundreds of daily wagers for the past three days in Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh area. Amid this, special attention is also being paid to cleanliness, hygiene and social distancing. Several other youth like Jaspreet and Manmeet are involved in providing food to the needy. Shariq Hussain from Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area has been offering food to daily wagers since soon after the lockdown was announced. After preparing food in the Jamia Nagar area, he makes food packets and distributes them to daily wage labourers passing by.
