Following the resignation of Jyotiraditya Scindia and 22 MLAs of his faction from the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, the Kamal Nath government is now in the minority.

However, following the resignation of 22 MLAs, Chief Minister (CM) Kamal Nath claimed that all MLAs who have gone to Bengaluru are in touch and there is no crisis in the government. He also said that he will prove his majority and the government will complete its term in office.

Following Scindia’s resignation from the Congress, 22 MLAs, including six ministers, have so far resigned from the party. Out of these 22 MLAs, 19 are lodged at a resort in Bengaluru.

To help the government tide over the crisis, CM Kamal Nath has sent Sajjan Singh Verma, a minister, to Bengaluru to establish contact with the rebel MLAs.

Amid the ongoing political crisis in Madhya Pradesh, both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are involved in managing their MLAs. As part of this, late on Tuesday night, while the BJP sent all its MLAs by a chartered plane to Delhi and then shifted them to Gurugram, reports say that the Congress is also preparing to shift all its MLAs to Jaipur.

Earlier, on Tuesday, senior Madhya Pradesh Congress leader and MLA Bisahulal Singh resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP in the presence of Shivraj Singh.

Meanwhile, after his resignation from the Congress, it has become clear that Scindia will now go along with the BJP and it is being said that he will join the BJP on Wednesday in Delhi.
