MPs Wear Masks, Use Sanitisers As Coronavirus Fear
Amid Coronavirus fears, many MPs arrived at the Parliament wearing protective masks and were seen using sanitisers before shaking hands.

The Central and state governments are on alert to deal with the growing challenges surrounding the coronavirus outbreak.

Amid this, the second phase of the Budget Session is underway in Parliament, during which, apart from Members of Parliament (MPs), other people assemble in large numbers.

Given the risk of contracting the coronavirus, several MPs have now begun wearing masks and using hand sanitisers. They are also alert about their safety in light of the increasing hazards posed by the virus.

On Thursday morning, when three Congress MPs (Jairam Ramesh, Vivek Tankha and Ghulam Nabi Azad) met each other, Azad handed them a hand sanitiser before shaking hands with them.

Amravati MP Navneet Kaur Rana reached Parliament wearing a mask for the second day in a row. She said that the government should distribute masks to everyone.

Sushil Kumar Gupta, Rajya Sabha MP from the Aam Aadmi Party also reached Parliament wearing a mask and carrying a hand sanitiser. He said that he will write to the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and ask for thermal screening to be conducted in Parliament too.

Apart from this, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, BJP MP from Ladakh, was also seen wearing a mask at Parliament House entrance. According to MPs, safety leads to prevention and awareness about the coronavirus will be raised among people when they see MPs wearing masks.
