Encouraging stories are also coming to light amid the growing challenge of the novel coronavirus. Two friends from Mumbai's Malad are distributing oxygen cylinders for free to COVID-19 patients. Abbas Rizvi says that a few months ago his pregnant cousin died because she needed oxygen but could not be admitted to any hospital.
Mumbai: Two friends Shahnawaz Hussain & Abbas Rizvi are providing free oxygen cylinders to patients all over Mumbai amid #COVID19. Shahnawaz says, "Till now we have provided around 250-300 cylinders. Saddened by the incident, Abbas is now providing oxygen cylinders to ill people for free. Abbas is also accompanied by his friend Shahnawaz Sheikh who also sold his Ford Endeavor car to collect oxygen cylinders.
Shahnawaz told that whether a person is poor or rich, if he is having difficulty in getting an oxygen cylinder, then he can take it for free from us. Both friends have distributed between 250 and 300 oxygen cylinders in Mumbai so far.
Similarly, a newly married couple in the Vasai area of Mumbai donated 50 beds for a quarantine centre from the money saved for their wedding. The couple Eric Lobo and Marilyn Tuscano have known each other for eight years and were to be married in the winter this year. But they married and went to St. Gonsalo's Church in Vasai and donated the wedding money in the ongoing war against coronavirus.
