Nashik: Bus-Auto Rickshaw Collision Kills 21
Twenty-one people died after a bus and auto-rickshaw rammed into each other and fell into a well in Maharashtra's Nashik. The incident is from Malegaon in Nashik district, where a roadways bus and an autorickshaw collided around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. After collision, both vehicles fell into a roadside well.

Glass at the rear of the bus was broken open to rescue passengers. Among the 21 people who have died in this accident are nine women and a seven-year-old girl. Several people have also been injured and they have been admitted to the government hospital in Malegaon. Most of the injured are bus passengers.


There were more than 50 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident. According to information, the roadways bus, packed with passengers, was traveling at high speed when it collided with the autorickshaw.

Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has expressed condolences and assured all possible help to the accident victims.

Anil Parab, Transport Minister of Maharashtra and Chairman of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has called the accident unfortunate and announced Rs 10 lakh compensation each to the kin of the deceased. He also said that the MSRTC will bear the cost of treatment of the injured passengers.
