The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt across every cross-section of the global economy. To get a sense of how different corporations and industries are coping with the virus’ impact, Shirley Yu and Martina Fuchs of Hey China speak to Chinese Management Guru Edward Tse to get his perspective and outlook on the mood of his clients, many of which are Fortune 500 companies, due to COVID-19.

Edward: Right now, most CEOs don’t have a clear answer. There are no signs of a massive exodus

Hey China: Is the de-globalization and decoupling real?

Edward: I don’t see a clear-cut decoupling scenario going forward

Hey China: Could China’s sovereign digital currency compete with the USD as the world‘s reserve currency in the future? 

Edward: In specific circumstances, the Chinese digital currency may be used as a trading currency that will bypass the USD

Hey China: How well is China’s mixed ownership reform of SOEs working?

Edward: Everybody wants to get a piece of the pie
