Rajasthan's Kota Hit By Infant Deaths
Famous as ‘coaching city’, Rajasthan’s Kota has been in the news the past month due to deaths of infants. Infant deaths continue in Kota’s J K Lone Hospital and there was chaos because of the deaths of nine more infants in the past 48 hours.

According to officials, 100 infants have died in the last one month and Kota’s largest government hospital is now facing questions over these deaths. Hospital Superintendent Dr Suresh Dulara said the reason for the deaths of infants is low weight since birth.

Meanwhile, politics has also begun in this matter. Due to continuing infant deaths in Kota, the state’s Gehlot government is being targeted by the Opposition. On Tuesday, a group of Bharatiya Janata Party Members of Parliament visited the hospital and expressed concern over the condition of infants.

Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati wrote a Twitter post and trained her guns on Rajasthan’s Gehlot government and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi.

Mayawati said that Priyanka Gandhi did not meet mothers of infants in Kota and in this light, her meeting victims in U.P. is opportunistic.

After infant deaths, all parties are regularly visiting J K Lone Hospital and now, it seems less like a hospital and more like a tourist attraction.
