A case of sedition and disturbing peace has been slapped against a school and its management for staging a play against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Karnataka.

The Shaheen International School is in Karnataka’s Bidar district. The case was registered on the complaint of one Neelesh, who alleged that the play has adversely impacted the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The play also shows that if the CAA is implemented, then minority Muslims will be compelled to leave the country.

Meanwhile, the school management has said that the play had been staged by students of Std IV to depict the prevailing situation in the country in view of the CAA.

After registering cases under IPC Sections 124A and 504, police are harassing the school management and students. The Bidar Police are also questioning students in this connection.
