Shaheen Bagh Set For 3rd Round Of Talks With Media
Protests and strikes against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) have been underway in the entire country for more than two months.

Protests and strikes are going on in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh too, where Friday is the 69th day of protests. Mediators appointed by the Supreme Court will visit Shaheen Bagh to meet protesters for the third consecutive day on Friday.

Earlier, on Thursday - the second consecutive day - mediators Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran had met protesters at Shaheen Bagh. However, this meeting remained inconclusive.

On the second day too, the mediators had asked the media to stay away during their talks with protesters. They also told the protesters that their fight will not end by changing the protest site. Protesters at Shaheen Bagh are not ready to change the protest site. They also said that they will not back down until the CAA is repealed.

Meanwhile, people protested against the CAA, NRC and NPR in other cities of the country as well on Thursday. While Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC demonstrated against the CAA and NRC in West Bengal’s Bardhaman, a massive rally against the CAA, NRC and NPR was organised in Karnataka’s Bengaluru and Mangaluru.

AIMIM Party chief and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi addressed the rally in Bengaluru.
