State-Wise Break Up Of Coronavirus Cases And Deaths

The number of coronavirus patients in the country keeps increasing. According to Health Ministry data at 8 a.m. on April 23, the total number of patients in the country has reached 21,393 and the number of active patients is 16,454. 

While 681 people have lost their lives so far, 4,257 people have recovered as well.

The highest number of deaths in the country has taken place in Maharashtra (269), where 5,652 cases have come to light and 789 people have recovered.

In Gujarat, 103 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus so far. While 179 patients have been discharged here, the total number of patients is 2,407.

There have been 80 deaths in Madhya Pradesh. The total number of patients here is 1,592 and 148 patients have been discharged as well.

In Delhi, 48 people have died. Over here, 2,248 cases have been reported and 724 patients have recovered.

In Rajasthan, 27 people have lost their lives so far. While 230 people have recovered here, a total of 1,890 people have contracted the coronavirus.

There have been 24 deaths in Andhra Pradesh. Over here, 813 cases have been reported and 120 patients have recovered.

In Telangana, 23 people have lost their lives so far. While 194 people have recovered here, a total of 945 people have contracted the coronavirus.

In Uttar Pradesh, 1,449 cases have been reported. While 21 people have died here, 173 people have been discharged as well.

In Tamil Nadu, 18 people have died. While 1,629 cases have been reported here, 662 people have recovered as well.

There have been 17 deaths in Karnataka so far. While 131 people have recovered here, a total of 427 people have contracted the coronavirus.

In Punjab, 16 people have died. While 251 cases have been reported here, 49 people have recovered as well.

There have been 15 deaths in West Bengal. While 79 people have recovered here, the total number of patients is 456.

In Jammu and Kashmir, five people have lost their lives so far. While 92 people have recovered as well, 407 people have contracted the coronavirus.

There have been three deaths each in Kerala, Haryana and Jharkhand. In Kerala 438, in Haryana 262 and in Jharkhand 140 people have contracted the coronavirus. In Kerala 323, in Haryana 140 and in Jharkhand eight patients have recovered so far.

In Bihar, two people have died so far. Over here, 143 cases have been reported and 46 patients have been discharged.

Apart from this, there has been one death each in Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya due to the coronavirus.

The coronavirus has hit 33 states across the country so far and the number of patients is increasing rapidly.
