Tamil Nadu Tops Good Governance Rankings
The Ministry of Personnel released the Good Governance Index (GGI) on the occasion of Good Governance Day.

In the overall rankings of the GGI in large states, Tamil Nadu took the top spot, Maharashtra was at second place and Karnataka was placed third. Among North-East and hill states, Himachal Pradesh was first, Uttarakhand second and Tripura was third. Apart from this, among union territories, Puducherry was first, Chandigarh was second and Delhi was third.


In the overall ranking, Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest state, was at 17th place.

In Public Health ranking, among large states, Kerala was first, Tamil Nadu was second and Goa was third. Among North-East and hill states, Manipur was first, Sikkim was second and Mizoram was third. Among union territories, Puducherry was first, Andaman & Nicobar Islands was second and Chandigarh was third.

In Environment ranking, among large states, West Bengal was first, Kerala was second and Tamil Nadu was third. Among North-East and hill states, Himachal Pradesh was first, Uttarakhand was second and Tripura was third. Among union territories, Chandigarh was first, Daman & Diu was second and Puducherry was third. 

In Social Welfare And Development ranking, among large states, Chhattisgarh was first, Madhya Pradesh was second and Andhra Pradesh was third. Among North-East and hill states, Meghalaya was first, Sikkim was second and Mizoram was third. Among union territories, Daman & Diu was first, Dadra & Nagar Haveli was second and Andaman & Nicobar Islands was third.

In Public Infrastructure ranking, among large states, Tamil Nadu was first, Gujarat was second and Punjab was third. Among North-East and hill states, Himachal Pradesh was first, Uttarakhand was second and Tripura was third. Among union territories, Chandigarh was first, Delhi was second and Puducherry was third.

In Agriculture And Allied ranking, among large states, Madhya Pradesh was first, Rajasthan was second and Chhattisgarh was third. Among North-East and hill states, Mizoram was first, Himachal Pradesh was second and Tripura was third. Among union territories, Daman & Diu was first, Puducherry was second and Andaman & Nicobar Islands was third.

In Commerce & Industries ranking, among large states, Jharkhand was first, Andhra Pradesh was second and Telangana was third. Among North-East and hill states, Uttarakhand was first, Himachal Pradesh was second and Assam was third. Among union territories, Delhi was first, Daman & Diu was second and Dadra & Nagar Haveli was third.
