Tension on Indo-Nepal Border After Indian Civilian
The 1700-km-long international border of India-Nepal is generally calm but has become tense after an incident of firing near Bihar's Sitamarhi. The vigil has been increased along the Indo-Nepal international border with Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.

Apart from the state police, SSB personnel are patrolling and intelligence agencies are also on alert. Deepak Meena and SP Vijay Dhul, DM of Siddharthnagar district of eastern UP, have visited the border areas. SSB jawans and local police have also been alerted.

The firing took place at 8.40 am in the Sarlahi district of Nepal, in which Indian citizen Bikesh Kumar died. Uday Thakur and Umesh Rai, two other Indian nationals injured in the firing of Nepalese guards are admitted in the hospital. The fourth Indian citizen Naval Kishore Rai is in the possession of Nepali soldiers. SP of Sitamarhi, SP Sarlahi's SP is talking to Gangaram Shrestha and is trying to get the Indian citizen released.

According to SSB DG Kumar Rajesh Chandra, this is a completely local dispute. It was not going on for a long time, but it happened suddenly. On the basis of the preliminary investigation, SSB has submitted a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to Nepali media, the four Indian citizens were trying to enter Nepal, who were returned by the guards. After this, hundreds of Indian citizens gathered there and started demonstrations. The Kathmandu Post, quoting SP Sarlahi Gangaram Shrestha, claimed that the protesting Indian citizens suddenly turned violent, facing only seven Nepalese guards.

During this time, Indian civilians tried to attack, who were fired upon 10 rounds of aerial firing. After this, the crowd did not move, so the guards had to shoot. Nepali media claims that Indian citizen Naval Kishore Rai has been detained on charges of snatching the gun of the sentinel.

This firing is being linked to the border dispute between India and Nepal. It is possible that this matter is local but this has increased the tension on the border. There is also anger among the people due to the death of an Indian citizen.
