The First Legal Website Dedicated To Women

For the first time in India, women can now know all their legal rights at the click of a button. India's first website for women's laws, called Pink Legal, has been launched by a female lawyer from Hyderabad. 

Pink Legal explains all women related rights, from sexual harassment, rape, how to file a police complaint, to cyberbullying, property rights, etc. in a very easy to understand manner. It is something that ALL women in India need, as we all need to know our legal rights.

Pink Legal was founded with two important goals that the founder, Adv. Manasi Chaudhari wants to achieve:

Empower women and reduce gender inequality in India. 

“Gender equality is one of the 17 UN Goals for Sustainable Development. India is ranked 112th on the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report, which reflects the extent of gender inequality in India. Pink Legal will contribute towards reducing this gender inequality by empowering women with the knowledge of their legal rights, as I believe that knowledge and information are two of the strongest instruments to facilitate change”.

Bridge the gap between laws in India and common people. 

“Laws in India are drafted in extremely complex, legal language. We also have a complicated legal process and multiple laws for similar rights. Therefore, although laws are made for the benefit of people, they feel alienated from the law. Pink Legal addresses this issue by explaining the laws and legal processes to people in their language, making laws friendly and accessible, and less intimidating”.

Manasi is passionate about women’s rights and gender equality. She graduated B.A.LLB at the top of her class from Jindal Global Law School, Delhi. After practising in the Hyderabad High Court for two years, in 2018, Manasi assisted Hon’ble Justice DY Chandrachud in the Supreme Court on three landmark judgments - Section 377 (decriminalisation of homosexuality), Sabarimala temple, and adultery.

Pink Legal is a revolutionary step towards empowering women and bringing them to justice. It breaks the complex legal language into layman’s terms for women from any section of the society to understand.
