Troubles Mount For Yes Bank Founder Rana Kapoor
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed cases under criminal clauses against Rana Kapoor, his wife Bindu Rana, Avantha Group promoter Gautam Thapar and several others.

This is the second case registered by the CBI against Rana Kapoor in a week. In the case, the CBI has alleged irregularities in a deal involving the Amrita Shergill Marg bungalow in Delhi.


Also, there are charges of bribery for concessions in recovery of a loan worth Rs 2,000 crore from a company owned by Gautam Thapar.

The CBI alleges that Rana Kapoor had bought this bungalow for Rs 378 crore and made payment for it through Bliss Abode. According to the CBI, right after purchasing this bungalow, a mortgage was given to IndiaBulls Housing Finance against Rs 685 crore.

On Friday, the CBI raided several locations, including offices and residences belonging to Rana Kapoor, Bindu Rana and Gautam Thapar in Delhi and Mumbai. The CBI also conducted searches at residences of their close confidants.

The CBI claims that it has recovered several important documents in this case, which are being investigated. Rana Kapoor is in Enforcement Directorate custody till March 16.
