Two Dead, Seven Missing As Boat Capsizes In Mahananda River
A boat on its way from Malda in West Bengal to Katihar in Bihar capsized in the Mahananda river on Thursday. While two persons have died in this accident till now, 28 people have been rescued. Seven people are still missing. Meanwhile, a rescue operation continues.
A boat capsized in the Mahananda river in West Bengal’s Malda district on Thursday evening. The boat was on its way from Malda to Katihar in Bihar. It was carrying more than 50 passengers.
Present at the spot is a team of the National Disaster Response Force and administrative officials in large numbers. It is believed that the number of dead could increase. All the people injured in the accident have been admitted to a nearby hospital. Watch the full story here:
