Two Noida Societies Under Watch After Two Test COVID-19 Positive
The coronavirus continues to wreak havoc around the world, including in India, where the number of cases keeps increasing.
On Tuesday, the test reports of two people from two housing societies in Noida (which borders national capital Delhi) came out positive.
Anurag Bhargava, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Gautam Buddha Nagar, has issued orders for both societies to be kept under surveillance. Along with these two patients, the number of coronavirus patients in Noida has now increased to three. While three people have died from this disease in India so far, 129 cases have been reported till now. Amid this, it was confirmed on Tuesday that the coronavirus test reports of two people in Noida have come out positive. CMO Bhargava said on Tuesday that the first coronavirus patient is from the Lotus Espacia Society in Noida Sector-100. She had recently returned from France and has already been admitted to the Isolation Ward. The second patient is from Hyde Park in Sector-78 and he, too, has been admitted to the Isolation Ward. The CMO has kept residents of both societies in the ‘Observation’ list, which means that they will be under observation for 14 days and sent to AIIMS as soon as coronavirus symptoms are visible. However, keeping thousands of people in the societies away from work will be a huge challenge. After two patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus in two societies in Noida, there is an atmosphere of fear around these societies and people have locked themselves up inside their homes. With these two patients, while the number of afflicted in Noida has now risen to three, the number of coronavirus patients in Uttar Pradesh has now increased to 15.
