Unemployment Rate Drops By 40% In Madhya Pradesh
The Kamal Nath-led Congress government in Madhya Pradesh got a shot in the arm as the unemployment rate in the state has dropped by 40% in the last nine months.

The unemployment has come down from 7% in December 2018 to 4.2% in September 2019, a Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) report said.

In contrast, unemployment climbed to 8.1% by October in the country.

Enthused by the report, the Congress tweeted:

On Friday, the government has announced around Rs. 1.05 lakh crore worth of investments at the Magnificent Madhya Pradesh Investors Summit in Indore.

The work of setting up industrial units under the investment proposals worth around Rs 31,500 crore has already begun in January itself, while other projects worth over Rs 74,000 crore is likely to begin in March 2020.

The investments are likely to generate around 2.10 lakh-plus jobs. Of these, 70% of jobs will go to the state’s youths.
