UP Man Kills Self In Front Of Train, Leaves Suicid
A man committed suicide by jumping in front of Shramik special train in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri. A suicide note was also recovered from his pocket.

Bhanu Gupta, in the suicide note, said that he had taken the step ‘because of poverty and unemployment’ due to the Lockdown. While he had wheat and rice through the ration quota in the house, he had no money to buy other daily essentials like sugar, salt and milk and shopkeepers were also not giving him credit.

Bhanu used to work at a hotel but the lockdown left the hotel shut and him unemployed.

He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters. His widowed mother was unwell and everyone's responsibility was on Bhanu's shoulders. Moreover, Bhanu was also struggling with his own illness.

In the suicide note, he wrote, 'I have a complaint of cough, joint pain, very weak, shortness of breath and dizziness. Similarly my widowed mother has been suffering from cough fever for two years. ‘The lockdown keeps on extending and there is no job anywhere,’ the suicide note read.

Bhanu wrote that he was very worried about running the house and getting treatment for her mother and that he did not receive any help from the UP government.

According to Lakhimpur DM Shailendra Kumar Singh, Bhanu and his mother had Antyodaya ration cards and had also got ration.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi hit out at the BJP by tweeting Bhanu's suicide letter.

She said that this letter may not reach you like the letter that celebrates one year.

But please read this,” said Priyanka Gandhi in her tweet. Many people in India are in a similar situation today.
