Up To 40% Hike In Mobile Tariff By Reliance Jio

The phase of cheap mobile tariff in India is nearing its end. On Sunday, a few hours after the launch of new tariff plans by Vodafone-Idea and Airtel, Reliance Jio also announced a hike in its mobile tariff.

Reliance Jio said on Sunday that from December 6, the company will make its all-in-one plans dearer by 40%. It also said that with the new plans, customers will get 300% more benefits. Apart from this, the company has set a limit on calls made to other mobile operators, which will be applicable on unlimited plans.

Earlier, on Sunday, Vodafone-Idea released 2, 28, 84 and 365 day-plans for its prepaid services. All these plans will be 40-50% more expensive than the previous plans.

Meanwhile, Airtel’s tariff plan became more expensive by 50 paise to Rs 2.85 per day. The company said that new plans will be more expensive by upto 42% as compared to previous plans. Apart from this, the cheapest plan of the company will now cost Rs 49. 

All these tariff plans will be applicable in the country from December 3.
