Waterlogging Still Haunts The Residents Of Patna
Waterlogging still haunts the residents of Bihar’s capital Patna which was pounded by heavy rain in late September.

Even after a month, water has not fully receded in many low-lying localities and heaps of garbage have piled up in several pockets.

A campaign was even carried out on a war-footing to pump out the water but in vain. Many people have fallen victim to vector-borne diseases such as chikungunya, malaria, dengue, and viral fever.

Till Tuesday, 2,175 dengue cases have been reported in Patna alone while the number of Dengue cases has reached 2,925 across the state, government data showed.

Data from the Ministry of Home Affairs shows that 161 people died in Bihar in monsoon this year, while 1,26,000 people had to flee their homes.
