Wedding Of All Weddings: Karnataka Minister BS Sreeramulu’s daughter wedding has become the most expensive wedding so far. The Rs 500-crore wedding, which began on February 27, is running for 9 days. One lakh people have been invited to the wedding.
While weddings may be commonplace in the country, there is one marriage ceremony which has been in the news recently for its massive expenditure.
This grand wedding is of Rakshita, daughter of B.S. Sriramulu, who is a BJP leader and Minister for Health and Family Welfare in the Karnataka government. It is being speculated that 1 lakh people have been invited and around Rs 500 crore is being spent on this wedding. Rakshita is set to get married to Hyderabad-based businessman Ravi Kumar on Thursday, March 5, but wedding festivities and rituals began on February 27, nine days before the wedding, in Bellary. This grand wedding is taking place on a 40-acre area, out of which 15 acre will be used just for car parking and six acre will be used for food arrangements, while 500 priests are present on the spot to conduct the wedding. Preparations for this grandiose wedding have been underway for the past three months, with Bollywood directors erecting the sets for the ceremony. Another set is being readied for this marriage ceremony in Bellary, where a post-wedding reception will be held and Deepika Padukone’s make-up artist has been roped in for the bride’s styling. Around 1 lakh invitations have been sent out for this wedding so far, and among the invitees are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, several political leaders, businesspersons and common people. The invitation card has also been designed uniquely and it sports saffron, cardamom, vermillion, turmeric and rice grains.
