There has been a record jump in Coronavirus cases in the country. According to the Health Ministry’s latest bulletin, 26,506 new cases were reported over the past 24 hours and 475 deaths across the country.

With this, the total infections in the country have increased to 793,802 while the death toll has increased to 21,604.


Lockdown is being announced in several states as the cases spike throughout the country.

UP has announced a strict lockdown from 10 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday.

The state government has said that all offices, all urban and rural markets, mandis and business establishments will remain closed during this period. Currently, more than 32,000 cases have been reported in the State.

In the capital Delhi, despite all measures, cases of infection are not letting up, where the total number of cases has reached about 1.7 lakh.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has decided to extend the rapid antigen tests in all dispensaries and polyclinics to check the spread of COVID-19. This investigation will be done from 9 am to 12 am.

The situation is worsening in jails across Maharashtra, which is facing the highest number of infections. According to the state home ministry, 596 prisoners and 167 jail staff have been infected so far, with the maximum number of 219 inmates and 57 jail staff infected in Nagpur Central Jail.
