Indian Women's Cricket Team Enters Maiden World Cu
The Indian women’s cricket team has entered the Women’s T20 World Cup final for the very first time.

The first semi-final match of the Women’s T20 World Cup between India and England at Australia’s Sydney Cricket Ground was cancelled due to rain on Thursday, after which the Indian women’s team reached the finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

According to ICC rules, in the event of the match being cancelled, the top teams in their groups will directly reach the final. While India was on top in Group A after winning all four matches, England was in second place in Group B by winning three out of four matches.

While the Indian women’s team had reached the Women’s T20 World Cup semi-finals thrice earlier (in 2009, 2010 and 2018), it had never made it to the finals.

In the finals, India will face the winning team of the second semi-final match, which will be played between South Africa and current champions Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Meanwhile, if the second semi-final match is also cancelled due to rain, then South Africa will reach the finals, where it will face-off with India for the T20 World Cup trophy at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.
