Indian Women's Cricket Team Enters Maiden World Cup Final
According to ICC rules, in the event of the match being cancelled, the top teams in their groups will directly reach the final. While India was on top in Group A after winning all four matches, England was in second place in Group B by winning three out of four matches. While the Indian women’s team had reached the Women’s T20 World Cup semi-finals thrice earlier (in 2009, 2010 and 2018), it had never made it to the finals. In the finals, India will face the winning team of the second semi-final match, which will be played between South Africa and current champions Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday. Meanwhile, if the second semi-final match is also cancelled due to rain, then South Africa will reach the finals, where it will face-off with India for the T20 World Cup trophy at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.
