New Zealand outplay India in the second and final Test match to clinch the series 2-0 in Christchurch.

The Kiwis defeated India by seven wickets on Monday, the third day of the second test match.


Kyle Jamieson, who took five wickets and scored 49 runs for New Zealand in the first innings, was named Man of the Match. Tim Southee, who took 14 wickets in the entire series, was declared Man of the Series.

India’s second innings ended at 124 runs on Monday morning, the third day of the match and India set a target of 132 runs for New Zealand to win the match.

Chasing a total of 132 runs, the Kiwis got off to a good start in the second innings. New Zealand’s first wicket fell at the score of 103 runs. Later, after making 132 runs at the loss of three wickets, New Zealand won the match by seven wickets.

India’s batting remained poor in the second test match as well and apart from a few batsmen, nobody proved successful. However, the bowlers put up a good show in the second test match.

Earlier, after winning the toss, New Zealand had invited India to bat first. While India made 242 runs in the first innings and 124 runs in the second innings, New Zealand made 235 runs in the first innings.

Previously, New Zealand had defeated India by 10 wickets in the first test match of the series played in Wellington.
