Sourav Ganguly Takes Charge AS BCCI President
One of the most successful Indian captains, Sourav Ganguly, took charge as the 39th president of the BCCI at its annual meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday.

With Ganguly taking over, the 33-month tenure of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators also came to an end.


The 47-year-old Ganguly was elected the president unopposed and will have a tenure of 10 months before he goes for the mandatory cooling off.

Along with Sourav Ganguly, Union Home Minister Amit Shah's son, Jay Shah took over as the BCCI secretary. 

Arun Singh Dhumal, brother of former BCCI president Anurag Thakur was made the new BCCI treasurer and Kerala Cricket Association president Jayesh George was elected as the joint secretary. 

Mahim Verma of Uttarakhand became the new vice-president. Brijesh Patel is now set to become the chairman of Indian Premier League (IPL).
