Stage Set For Ind Vs Aus 2nd ODI On Friday

The second ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia will be played at Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Friday.

Ahead by 1-0, Australia will look to win the match to clinch the series 2-0, whereas India will try hard to win and get the series levelled at 1-1.

India had been soundly defeated in the first match of the series played in Mumbai, when Australia thrashed India by 10 wickets. While both batting and fielding by India were poor in the first match, Australia performed well on both fronts.

India has played only two matches at Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium and it has lost both the matches, while Australia will play its first match there.

Figures reveal that Australia has a very good record of playing against India in ODI matches. Both teams have played a total of 138 ODIs till now, of which India won 50 matches and Australia won 78 matches, while 10 matches remained inconclusive.

In India, the two teams have played a total of 62 matches to date, of which Australia won 30 matches and India won 27 matches. Apart from this, both countries have played 11 one-day series till now, of which Australia won six and India won five series.

The third and final match of the one-day series will be played in Bengaluru on January 19.
