India and England will play the first semi-final match of the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia’s Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

India has reached the T20 World Cup semi-final for the fourth time; before this, it had made it to the semis in 2009, 2010 and 2018.


The Indian Women’s Team is currently in superb form and while it has won all four matches it has played in this World Cup so far, England has won three out of four matches it has played till now.

Playing for India, Shafali Verma (batting) and Poonam Yadav (bowling), are in amazing form. While Poonam Yadav has taken nine wickets in the World Cup, Shafali Verma has made 161 runs at a strike rate of 161.

India has never defeated England in the T20 World Cup so far. Both teams have played a total of five matches in the T20 World Cup so far and all five matches were won by England.

Meanwhile, both teams have played a total of 19 T20 matches so far, out of which England won 15 matches and India won four matches. 

India has never made it to the T20 World Cup final so far. In this match, India has the opportunity to defeat England for the first time in the World Cup and also play its first World Cup final.

The second semi-final match of the World Cup will also be played on Thursday at the Sydney Cricket Ground between South Africa and current champions Australia.

The World Cup final match will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.
