ISRO To Launch Chandrayaan-3
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced its plans for a big mission in New Year 2020 and said that India will launch Chandrayaan-3 this year. Under Mission 2020, India will take giant strides in space along with launching Chandrayaan-3.

ISRO chief K Sivan said that the government has given permission for Chandrayaan-3, which will have a lower budget than the previous mission. Sivan also said that Chandrayaan-3 will be like Chandrayaan-2. It will have only a rover and a lander but no orbiter. Help will be sought from Chandrayaan-2 orbiter in this mission. Scientists believe that its orbiter will work for the forthcoming seven years.

Four people have been selected to work on this mission and they will be sent to Russia for training; their training will begin in the third week of January.

The aim of this mission is the south pole of the Moon, where no Chandrayaan has ventured previously. It is believed that there is water there.

Before this, ISRO has worked on Chandrayaan and Chandrayaan-2. While just one orbiter had been sent to the Moon during Chandrayaan, one lander and rover were sent to the Moon during Chandrayaan-2.

Chandrayaan-2’s Vikram lander had been unable to land on the surface of the Moon. The mission was not completely successful due to the crash landing. Due to this, scientists are now trying to ensure that the lander does not suffer any kind of damage during landing.
