American cult bikemaker Harley-Davidson is shutting down its only factory in India after a decade of unsuccessful efforts to gain a foothold. Harley-Davidson estimates a restructuring cost of $ 75 million as it plans to move to more profitable markets like the US. Harley Davidson entered the Indian market in July 2010, but so far in the last 10 years, the company has been able to sell only 27,000 bikes. In the financial year 2019-2020, the company sold only 2,500 bikes in India, whereas this year, during the pandemic, only 100 bikes were sold in April-June. The cheapest Harley bike in the Indian market is 4.69 lakh, while the most expensive bike is 50.83 lakh
