Reliance Industries, on Thursday, became the first Indian company to touch a market cap of $ 200 billion. The market cap of PSUs is continuously decreasing due to selling and incurring losses and has reached the lowest level of the decade. According to an estimate, only 4.6 percent of the total market cap of the country's stock markets is held by PSUs. There are 76 such PSUs in which the government holds more than 50% stake and their total market cap is Rs 12.5 lakh crore. Of this, only 5 companies are owned by State Bank of India, ONGC, Power Grid Corporation, NTPC and BPCL.
