After 5 years of #demonetization, there has been an increase in cash circulation on one hand, but also a boom in digital payments on the other. However, the idea of a ‘less cash’ economy has clearly not worked out in this time period. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued new data for October that show that there were a record number of digital transactions in the country wherein the payments market’s top players: PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm Payments Bank, ICICI Bank App, And Amazon remained on top.
