Will Climate Action Be A Priority For World In 2022?
In the first month of the new year 2022 itself, there have been worrying indiciations that hte climate crisis is showigng no signs of slowing down. 2021 was recorded as the 5th warmest year on record while the ice sheets at Greenland continued to shrink for the 25th year running. Countries may have agreed to ambitious emissions-reduction targets by 2030 but with only 8 years to go, the goal seems far away form achievement at present. The latest World Economic Forum report has also pegged climate change, global warming, and extreme weather eents as the top worldwide concerns in a frame of 10 years, leaving behind the present coronavirus pandemic raging across the world.
