20 Lakh May Die Before COVID-19 Vaccine Arrives, Warns WHO
The World Health Organization has issued a warning saying that if large and stringent steps are not taken globally to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the number of deaths worldwide will reach 20 lakh. Mike Ryan, head of the emergency program at WHO, said, "One million is a terrible number and we need to reflect on that before we start considering a second million." Ryan said that a million people have died in nine months and if we think that the vaccine will come in the next 9 months, which means another million can die if we don't take serious efforts. But he added: “Are we prepared collectively to do what it takes to avoid that number?
