Fluorosis Menace Plagues Odisha’s Nuapada

Fluorosis, a chronic condition caused by excessive intake of fluorine compounds, has gripped the majority of Nuapada’s residents in Odisha.

Found majorly in water, excessive fluorine decays teeth in the primary stage and weakens bones in the later stage.  

Fluorosis' effect on children is even more severe as it disables them to even walk properly, talk or play due to its effect on the bones. 

A look at how one of India's most backward region is fighting against the menace as the availability of fresh water becomes scarce.
