Pune's Serum Institute of India is all abuzz after reports of an Oxford University vaccine for COVID-19 showing promising early stage results from a phase 1/2 clinical trial. The early stage trial found that the vaccine is safe, causes few side effects, and induces strong immune responses in both parts of the immune system. If all goes well, the Pune institute can hope through an agreement with Oxford University and pharma company AstraZeneca to mass produce the vaccine in India
