The Centre for Science and Environment has blown the lid off what it calls the “mother of all food frauds”, revealing that about 77 percent of branded honey tested by CSE was found adulterated with Sugar syrup. CSE Director General Sunita Narain while exposing the 'honey trap' said only three of the 13 Indian brands tested by CSE passed internationally accepted Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) test. “We aren’t eating honey but Sugar in India,” Narain said.
