The United Kingdom has become the first Western country to approve the COVID-19 vaccine for use by its citizens. The vaccine developed by drugmakers Pfizer and BioNtech in the UK has now been declared safe for the general public. However, the first to be vaccinated are those who are most vulnerable to the virus. For time being, the vaccine has been licensed for emergency use only
