Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Australian PM Scott Morrison and British PM Boris Johnson launched IRIS: Infrastrucutre for Resilient Island States, by pledging upwards of $10 million. The focus of this initiative is to create resilient infrastructure that will minimize humana nd conomic losses in climate relatd events. 

Modi said that though climate chang is a threat to all countries whether developed or not, but the SIDS (Small Island Developing States) are at particular risk. IRIS is not just an infrastructure creation program but part of a humanitarian mission
