Elephants Enjoy Fun Pumpkin Squashing Game At Oregon Zoo
It is a fun 23-year old 'tradition'at the Oregon Zoo called 'Squishing Of The Squash' in which the largest land animals on Earth enjoy a game of smashing large pumpkins. Incidentally, 'Smashing Pumpkins' is also the name pf a renowned American rock band as well. According to the zoo, this tradition started in 1999, when Hoffman's Dairy Garden of Canby (City of Oregon, United States) contributed a prize-winning 828 pound pumpkin for the herd. The elephants are clearly having a lot of fun kicking and squishing the pumpkins in this heartwarming video. it is not only good exercise but also provides stimulating and challenging environements, objects, and activities for the animals, the zoo says.
