India and the United States held bilateral dialogues over 2 days, concluding on Monday. PM Modi and US President Joe Biden held a virtual meeting, discussing bilateral cooperation and the ongoing Ukraine War.

Biden told Modi that Russian oil purchases were "not in India's interests". When pressed on this by journalists in Washington, S. Jaishankar said that India's monthly Russian purchases are less than the daily consumption of Europe

The US also backed India's bid for a permanent seat at the UN, and its entry into the NSG which is opposed by China. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also said that the US is 'monitoring' incidents of human rights violations in India by state and non-state entities.
