Akhilesh Yadav conductd a “Vijay Yatra” rally from Banda to Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh. This visit to the Bundelkhand region followed riyanka Gandhi’s ‘Pratigya Yatra’ to the state. Yadav raised the issue of farmers and the migrant laboureres from the region who were “left orphaned’ by the present government and had to walk back for long distances without food and water, and the labourers who strengthen the economy lost their lives. He claimed that only the Samajwadi Party came forward to help the families of the decased laborers by giving them ₹1 lakh.

He said “we are family people” and we know the pain of the families of the farmers and labourers who died, this being a veiled attack on the BJP leadership of Yogi Adityanath who is a bachelor and Prime Minister Narendra Modi who lives separately from his wife.

Yadav also criticized the ruling BJP’s “damdaar sarkaar” (strong government) slogan , and instead said that they only tell “damdaar jhooth” (“forceful lies”). He brought up by the issue of jobs and unemployment for the youth of Bundelkhand. Now that “the government’s time is over”, after 4.5 years, the youth are being offered smartphones and tablets.

He told the youth to keep in mind that “he who cannot use a laptop cannot give a laptop”.
