Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was in Mohali, Punjab today during an election visit ahead of the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections in 2022. He took aim at the ruling Congress in the state during a public meeting and interaction befire delivering a speech from the podium.

Seeking to distance his party from the ticket culture and ambition to obtain positions without consideration for welfare, he asked do we want to improve Punjab or do we want to make someone a Minister and distribute positions? He said this is the credo of the Aam Aadmi Party that no one joins it to become a position holder such as a Minister or MLA, etc.”We have come here to improve Punjab”, he said.

“We have improved Delhi [..] and the people of Punjab are looking to the Aam Aadmi Party not because someone will be made a Minister or an MLA but because good work has been done in Delhi.

He underlined that electricity was free in Delhi and his promise of providing electricity up to 300 units free will benefit 80% families of Punjab. “As soon as I left, CM Channi said that electricity has been made free”, but Kejriwal contested this claim and asked the audience how many of them receive free electricity now.

He said that he has brought with him 1 lakh bills showing zero charge, and challenged incumbent Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi to present even 1000 from Punjab. He also said that just like Captain [Amarinder Singh] was not able to provide unemployment, CM Channi would also fail to provide the plots of land he promised, after the election.
