After a span of 27 years, the CBI Special Court will pronounce judgement in the criminal trial of Babri Masjid Demolition case on September 30. Judge SK Yadav has ordered all 32 accused including LK Advani,  Uma Bharti to be present. The SC in July 2019 had directed trial court to complete the case and give judgement within 9 months, however the deadline was extended following the trial judge’s request. In November 2019, the civil case over land dispute was settled by the SC, which noted in its judgement that the destruction of the Babri Masjid was illegal. Several senior BJP leaders including LK Advani are accused of being part of the criminal conspiracy to illegally demolish the Babri Masjid. Advani has denied the charges claiming that he was accused as part of a political conspiracy. Sidharth Pandey reports
