Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, citing figures from the UN report on Women unemployment, ILO, the fall in GDP, unemployment and GST arrears to the states, "Today there is a darkness of economic devastation all around the country." Surjewala has further said that livelihood, bread, employment have ended and businesses and industries have come to a standstill. Surjewala alleged the Modi government has “plundered” the economy in the last six years and is now describing its own ineptitude and incompetence as an “act of God”.
